Irish History:

In 450 BC Celts (Kelts) from Middle Europe moved across the oceans to settle in Ireland. They believed in many gods. They also had a belief in little people, such as fairies, elves and leprechauns.  After the birth of Christ, traders and soldiers arrived from Rome and introduced Christianity to the island. In the last century, a disease attacked the potato crops and approximately 1 million people starved to death. More than 1 million Irish left the country to make new homes in England, Scotland, Canada and US. They took their beliefs and customs with them to their new countries.
